RILI crowns new pageant winners

Rainbow Institute of Learning, Inc. crowned four new title holders this year's pageants held during the 21st Founding Anniversary Celebration of the school, March 13-15, 2019. Jairus Mikhail Cacho and Alexis Jewel Tolentino are this year's Mr. and Ms. RILI, respectively. This year's Mr. and Ms. Gala Night are Dalzen Nickandrei Gutierrez and Maui Encarnacion, respectively. The search for Mr. and Ms. RILI 2019 was held during the opening program of the celebration, March 13, while the search for Mr. and Ms. Gala Night 2019 was held during the closing program of the events on March 15.

Turning Crystal: RILI Celebrates 15 Years

This is how students and faculty regard Rainbow Institute of Learning, Inc.'s 15th Founding Anniversary celebration, Feb. 21-23. The school celebrated its crystal anniversary with the theme "Gaining Clarity and Strength through Changing Times".

During the kick-off ceremony, school principal Mr. Daniel Ezra Añoso remarked, "Hindi biro ang makarating sa 15 taon. Maraming pagsubok ang kinaharap at maaaring kaharapin ng paaralan. Ngunit ang mga pagsubok na ito ang siyang tumulong sa paaralan upang maging claro ang mga layunin nito..." (It's not easy reaching 15 years. The school has overcome many hurdles and it may yet face many more. But these hurdles also helped the school gain clarity in its goals.)

The first day of the celebration, Feb. 21, featured this year's Search for Little Mr. & Ms. RILI and the Search for Mr. & Ms. RILI. Participants from the two contests competed in modeling their casual and formal wears, in presenting their talents, and in answering questions given by the judges. They also competed in the number to tickets sold to their supporters. Preparatory students Gian Carlo Loyola and Czelsey Ayen Eval won this years Little Mr. and Ms. RILI crowns, respectively. Meanwhile, Grade 1 students Kim Adriel Sta. Maria and Daphne Raine Narciso were crowned Mr. and Ms. RILI, respectively. The Search for Little Mr. & Ms. RILI was participated by preschool students while the Search for Mr. & Ms. RILI was a contest for elementary students.

That night, the Bahaghari Cultural Dance Group staged Padayon, the group's second mini-concert. The group performed folk dances for the audience capping the concert with their performance of Sayaw sa Bangko, a skill dance performed on stacked chairs. The concert was attended by students, parents, and other guests including Mayor Edgardo Ramos of Pila, Laguna.

The annual Gala Night was held at the night of Feb. 22. The formal event was attended by faculty and secondary students. This year, attendees wore masks adorned with crystals to match the school's crystal anniversary.

The event also featured the Search for Mr. & Ms. Gala Night, a contest participated by secondary students. Art Arguidas from IV-Ruby and Frecanzie Nogrado from III-Sapphire were crowned Mr. and Ms. Gala Night, respectively. Contestants competed against each other in the formal wear competition, the talent competition, and question and answer portion. They also enlisted the aid of their supporters through Facebook likes and signatures.

On the third day, Feb. 23, winners of the different pageants paraded through Pila. After which, the Fun Games commenced. All students from preschool to high school were given respective groups and competed in numerous individual and team games. After scores have been tallied, team Earth Shakers was declared overall champion.

RILI holds 4th Gala Night

Masks, gowns, and ties of different colors abound in the annual Gala Night of Rainbow Institute of Learning, Inc. (RILI) as part of the school's 15th founding anniversary celebration, Feb. 22. This is the 4th time the school has held this formal event.

The program started with the entrance of participants. Students from the high school department were introduced by masters of ceremonies Mr. Robby Torres and Ms. Rachel Dellosa. Participants entered with their partners and then proceeded to the center of the court for their cotillion.

School principal Mr. Daniel Ezra Añoso gave his welcome remarks followed by the president of the Student Council, Kenneth Cyruz Celso who also gave the class history of the senior class. After which, a slideshow presentation prepared by the senior class was shown while dinner was being served.

After dinner, contestants of the Search for Mr. & Ms. Gala Night 2013 presented themselves in casual and formal wear. They then presented their talents for the talent portion. Judges then asked them questions about varied topics such as family life and love life. Scores were then computed and Art Arguidas of Year IV and Frecanzie Nogrado of Year III were declared winners.

The program continued with the telling of the class prophecy by senior class president James Christian Espayos. After which, the key of responsibility were then transferred by Year IV representative Mark Donel de Patiño to Year III representative Kate Aprilyn Surbano. Students then lit up candles and sang their promenade song.

The program ended with a dance party participated by students and teachers alike.

The winners of Rainbow Institute of Learning, Inc.'s (RILI) Foundation Day pageants have been announced during their coronation days, Feb. 21 and 22 as part of the school's 15th founding anniversary celebration. The three contests are the search for Little Mr. & Ms. RILI, the search for Mr. & Ms. RILI, and the search for Mr. & Ms. Gala Night.

Agudo, Canonizado win Mr. & Ms. RILI

Samuel Agudo (Grade 1) and Jessica Quaye Canonizado (Nursery) won this year's search for Mr. & Ms. RILI, held Feb. 24 as part of Rainbow Institute of Learning, Inc.'s (RILI) 14th Foundation Day celebration.

The search for Mr. & Ms. RILI is a fund raising activity of RILI and the winners are determined by how much funds were raised. The runners-up are the following: Mr. & Ms. Love--Justin Henry Adan (Grade 2) and Hannah Xiantelle Alviar (Kinder); Mr. & Ms. Faith--Adel Sumague (Kinder) and Careyn Lhyne Abogado (Grade 4); Mr. & Ms. Hope--Nathaniel Sander de Guito (Nursery) and Francine Hernandez (Grade 1); Ms. Peace--Hannah Sheanmae Manito (Kinder).

Contestants were also judged separately for the speacial awards. For the boys, Justin Henry Adan won Best in Talent and Best in Casual Wear, Nathaniel Sander de Guito was Most Photogenic, while Samuel Agudo was Best in Formal Wear. For the girls, Careyn Lhyne Abogado won Best in Talent, Most Photogenic, and Best in Formal Wear, while Sheanmae Manito was Best in Casual Wear.

Seniors Crowned Mr. & Ms. Gala 2012

Herald Reyes and Carmela Joyce Padilla, senior students of Rainbow Institute of Learning, Inc. (RILI) were crowned as Mr. and Ms. Gala 2012 during the Gala Night, held Feb. 24 at the school covered court.

Reyes and Padilla competed in the formal wear and talent competitions, as well as in the Question and Answer round. Their popularity also had a bearing in the computation of the final scores as their ranking the in the People's Choice signature sheets were put into consideration.

The People's Choice award was given to Reyes and Padilla. Padilla was also Best in Formal Wear.

Other contestants were Mark Donel de Patiño, Kenneth Cyrus Celso, Dianne Karell Mapalad, Bethany Praise Ortiz (Best in Talent), Jemhyr Bambo (Best in Formal Wear, Best in Talent), and Shane Corales.

The Search for Mr. and Ms. Gala is part of the annual Gala Night, a formal event organized by the school aimed to equip students with the necessary skills in socialization and etiquette.

RILI Gears Up for Foundation Day


Students of Rainbow Institute of Learning, Inc. are busy preparing for the upcoming Foundation Day on Feb. 23-24. Headed by their advisers, students from all levels practice Philippine folk dances which they will present during the said event.

This year the Foundation Day aims to promote Filipino culture through dance, games, and other activities reflective of traditional and modern Filipino culture. Hence the theme Isang Sulyap sa mga Pamana ng Kulturang Pilipino.

The first day of the event will feature games for both students and parents. Students from all levels will be assigned to a group and compete in various games Filipinos play. Parents, on the other hand, are invited to join Bingo Social in the afternoon.

The second day of the event will be started by a parade. Students and teachers participating in the parade will be dressed in the costumes for the field demonstration where they will showcase Philippine folk dances. The search for Little Mr. and Ms RILI 2011, one of the highlights of the event, will follow.

This year's Gala Night will also be part of the festivities. The ball will be held in the evening of the second day and will feature the coronation of this year's Mr. and Ms. RILI 2011.
