RILI visits Aguinaldo, gets enchanted at EK

Rainbow Institute of Learning, Inc. (RILI) went to the Aguinaldo Shrine, Enchanted Kingdom, and other places in the Cavite province and Sta. Rosa City for their educational tour, Oct. 5.

The trip's first stop was the Island Cove mini-zoo in Cavite. Students saw wild animals in captivity such as Bengal tigers, Philippine crocodiles, and snakes. Some animals were even brought outside their cages to be touched by the students. These captive wild animals served as their kind's ambassadors as they taught the students about the importance of conservation and keeping our environment fit for wildlife to flourish.

RILIans then got important bits of facts during their visit to the Aguinaldo Shrine in Kawit, Cavite. They saw Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo's house and some rare artifacts connected to our first president. Students took note of the events in history that were relevant to the life of Gen. Aguinaldo. They also saw what style of architecture were present during that era.

Students were then taken to the Gardenia factory where Gardenia breads are made. Students watched with amazement at how bread is mass produced by big machines. They saw how important strict quality checks are in ensuring that the food we eat are safe as well as nutritious.

After visiting Gardenia, students headed to Nuvali at Sta. Rosa City in Laguna for a quick break while feeding the fish on the man-made lake. Some students opted for a more exciting way to spend the break which is by a boat-ride.

All then headed to Enchanted Kingdom, also in Sta. Rosa, to spend the whole afternoon having fun. The students were exposed to practical Physics at the amusement park. It was a perfect example of how science can be made fun.

RILI visits Calamba, Seriland, Science Discovery for educ'l tour

Students of Rainbow Institute of Learning, Inc. (RILI) spent a day of fun and learning during their educational tour held Sept. 30. Despite the onslaught of typhoon Pedring just a few days before the tour, the sky seemed to favor the event and let the sun shine for most of the day.

RILI students stood in awe of Rizal's tallest monument.

Three buses filled with students and parents left RILI at around 5am. First stop was the Rizal Monument at Calamba City. Standing 22 ft., it is the tallest monument of Dr. Jose Rizal in the Philippines.

There, students, parents, and teachers took the opportunity to have their photos taken at the foot of our national hero's newest monument.

Next stop was the Chips Delight factory in Canlubang, Laguna. Students observed how biscuits they see, and eat, everyday are made. Students also learned the importance of cleanliness in food preparation and packing. Parents, on the other hand, shopped for biscuits at discounted prices.

About to enjoy a 3D movie.

The buses then took the students to Seriland at the Manila Ocean Park in Manila. All students are sent in to learn how 3D movies are made and shown. They then watched a 3D cartoon movie. Most students are experiencing a 3D movie for the first time. A mix of squeals, screams, and laughs filled the theater as students felt like they were actually within the movie.

How many real students are here?

Preschool and elementary students then played in Seriland's play area while high school students found themselves lost in a mirror maze. Students, parents, and teachers also had their pictures taken at Seriland's Trick Art Museum.

Final stop was at the Science Discovery at SM Mall of Asia (MOA) where students found themselves immersed in the wonders of science. Students watched a short film about our Earth's place in the universe in Science Discovery's special dome-shaped screen placed at their theater's ceiling. The theater reverberated every student's "oohs" and "ahs" as they watched the film which felt like the audience themselves are traveling through space. They also enjoyed other interactive stations.

After Science Discovery, all were allowed to shop at SM MOA to bring home pasalubong to friends and family.

The tour was capped with a dazzling fireworks display at the bay area in front of MOA. After that, all were on the way home back to Laguna.
