RILI Competes in PGO

Rainbow Institute of Learning, Inc. (RILI) competed in the 2nd Philippine Geography Olympiad (PGO), held Dec. 3 at the University of the Philippines Diliman. The PGO is a national level quiz contest in geography for third year high school students. Representing RILI are James Christian Espayos, Edmar Magbanua, and Kenneth Cyrus Celso. They were coached by Araling Panlipunan teacher Ms. Perla Drilon.

Contestants were asked questions on general geography, geography of the Philippines, Earth science, biogeography, economic geography, population geography, cultural geography, environmental issues, and general knowledge.

This year's PGO was participated by 20 schools from all over the Philippines. Reaching the finals are the following schools: Manila Science High School, Philippine Science High School (Western Visayas), Philippine Science High School (Central Mindanao), San Jose Del Monte High School, and Marian School of Quezon City. Manila Science High School is this year's champion.
