Gonzales, Castillo Among Winners in Regional Talent Fest

Fheem Nadine Gonzales and Allicia Gweneth Castillo, both Preparatory pupils of Rainbow Institute of Learning, Inc. (RILI), were among winners in the Regional Kindergarten Festival of Talents held Nov. 11 in Imus Pilot Elementary School, Imus, Cavite.

Gonzales won second place in the Story Telling (Filipino) category. Gonzales bested 14 other contestants from other divisions in the CALABARZON region. Contestants in this category told the story Si Uwak at ang Asong Lobo, a Filipino adaptation of Aesop's fables--The Crow and the Pitcher and The Fox and the Crow. The Division of DasmariƱas City emerged as the winner of the category.

Castillo, on the other hand, ranked fourth among 17 contestants in the Vocal Solo category. A mere 0.5 point separated her from the third spot. Castillo sang Sa Aking Paglaki, a song that tells of a child's dreams of what he/she wants to be when he/she grows up. She earlier won in the division elimination round of the Vocal Solo category. She won against a contestant from St. Therese of the Child Jesus Academy.

The Regional Kindergarten Festival of Talents was participated by the divisions of Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon, Antipolo City, San Pablo City, Cavite City, Lucena City, Batangas City, Calamba City, Sta. Rosa City, Lipa City, and DasmariƱas City.

Gonzales and Castillo were the official representatives from the private schools of the Division of Laguna in their respective categories.
