Grade 1 students win district HEKASI quiz

Raven Brady, Therice Junel Nogrado, and Klarie Jane Laluz, Grade 1 students of Rainbow Institute of Learning, Inc. (RILI), won first place at the district level of the HEKASI Quiz Bee held Oct. 14 at Pila Elementary School.

Brady, Nogrado, and Laluz make up the team which represented RILI and competed against five other teams of Grade 1 students from private schools in the district of Pila. Nogrado earned a perfect score of 30 while Brady and Laluz earned 21 and 20, respectively, landing them in the top spot.

RILI also won and participated in other levels of the quiz bee: Grade 2, third place--Francis Dominic Puna, Samuel Agudo, and Lyn Rianne Ignacio; Grade 3, second place--Ron Wesley Gonzales, Saraiah Kashmir Nido, and Lei Julianna Matienzo; Grade 4, third place--Hannah Pauline Abela, Davidsson Lucero, and Alecssandra Rowie Aranas; Grade 5, participant--Marcus Adrian Balinas, Guila Mae Castañeda, and Rovie Mae Dasmariñas; Grade 6, participant--Irah Michelle Guevarra, Clarisse Vega, and Andrea Nicole Gonzales; Grade 6 (individual category), participant--Gio Manuel Castañeda.

Other private schools which competed in the quiz bee are Colegio Monterei de Pila, Liceo de Pila, St. Therese of the Child Jesus Academy, Integrated Christian School of Pila, Inc., and South Greenville School.

Brady, Nogrado, and Laluz will be competing in the division level HEKASI Quiz Bee on Oct. 28 in Lumban Central School.
