Students highlight right food and exercise in Nutrition Program

In celebration of Nutrition Month, teachers, students, and parents of Rainbow Institute of Learning, Inc. held numerous events that underscored the importance of a healthy diet and good exercise. The program was held July 23, 2015 at the school covered court.

The program kicked off with a message from the municipal health officer, Dr. Viel Angelo Bambo. He reiterated the need for a balanced diet and regular exercise. He also mentioned that for young students, exercise need not be the daily regimen done by fitness instructors. He clarified that helping parents in daily chores will do if you want to have regular exercise.

As part of a contest, students from different grade levels performed song and dance numbers the also emphasize the importance of a healthy diet and regular exercise. The group composed of Grade 3 and Grade 4 students won the contest.

The contest was followed by a Zumba session led by a certified Zumba instructor. Students, teachers, and parents participated in the event. After the exercising, everybody took part in a boodle fight where healthy foods were the main course.

In the afternoon, there was poster-making contest for elementary students as well as a salad-making contest for junior high school students.
