James Christian Espayos of Year IV-Ruby and Marcus Adrian Balinas of Grade 6-Red are class valedictorians of Rainbow Institute of Learning, Inc. for SY 2012-2013. The graduation ceremonies were held March 26 at the school grounds. This year's theme is Building the Nation's Future Leaders through the K-12 Basic Education Program.

The ceremony started with the administrator, Mrs. Miriam Añoso's opening remarks followed by the challenge of the graduating class and the acceptance of the representatives from Grade 5 and Year III. After which the graduated classes were presented by Mr. Ronaldo Morales and Mrs. Jeroline Ocampo, advisers of Year IV and Grade 6, respectively, and confirmed by the principal Mr. Daniel Ezra Añoso.

This year's guest speaker, Prof. Juancho Balatibat of the University of the Philippines Los Baños, inspired the graduates with advice on how to become successful individuals. His speech was followed by the salutatory addresses of Guila Mae Castañeda and Kenneth Cyruz Celso of Grade 6-Red and Year IV-Ruby, respectively. Castañeda thanked her family, teachers and friends for her success. Celso reminisced happy moments with his classmates and friends in RILI.

The valedictorians then gave their speeches. Balinas also thanked his family and friends for their support and urged his fellow graduates to continue to work hard for their education. Espayos equally emphasized this and said, "...in whatever line of interest we choose to fulfill, we should remember that victory and prosperity could only be attained through patience and hardships."

As final words, Principal Añoso reminded the graduates to strive to do their best and not waste their potentials. He coined H. W. Longfellow's A Psalm of Life, "So let us then be up and doing, / With a heart for any fate. / Still achieving, still pursuing, / Learn to labor and to wait."

The graduates then honored their parents in the Candle and Flower Ceremony that followed. After that, they recited the pledge of the graduates and sang their graduation songs.
