Ron Wesley Gonzales (Grade II) won second place in the division level of Mathrathon, a mathematics quiz contest. Gonzales, who was the champion in the district level of the contest represented Rainbow Institute of Learning, Inc. (RILI) and competed against eight other schools in the division level. The contest was held Sept. 22 at Unson Elementary School in Pagsanjan, Laguna.RILI also competed in the other grade level categories of the Mathrathon in the district level, held Sept. 20 at Pila Central School: Francis Dominic Puna (Grade I, 2nd place), John Fhrix Zyrene Cura (Grade III, 2nd place), Jeshermaine Castillo (Grade IV, 3rd place), Gio Manuel Castañeda (Grade V, 3rd place), and Ken Lloyd Aquino (Grade VI, 3rd place).
RILI also participated in the district level of the Math Quiz Bee held the same date and venue as the Mathrathon: Samuel Agudo (Grade I, 3rd place), Lei Julianna Matienzo (Grade 2, 2nd place), Davidsson Lucero (Grade 3, 2nd place), Guila Mae Castañeda (Grade IV), Ronne Rae Mayuga (Grade V), and Patrick Neil Pajam (Grade VI).
The Mathrathon and the Math Quiz Bee are parts of the Math Quest, a mathematics quiz contest for elementary students organized by the Department of Education.
