Rainbow Institute of Learning, Inc. hosted this year's edition of the Private Schools Athletic Association of Pila or PSAAP (formerly Private Elementary Schools Athletic Association of Pila), Aug. 28-29, 2017.
The first day of the event started with a kick-off program which began with a parade from the municipal plaza to the school grounds. All six participating schools joined the parade and were led by their high school muses and escorts.
The program commenced when the participants arrived at the school grounds. RILI principal Mr. Daniel Ezra A. AƱoso welcomed the student-athletes and other guests.
After hoisting their respective school flags, the muses and escorts participated in the Search for PSAAP Muse and Escort. The pair from San Antonio de Padua College Foundation of Pila, Laguna, Inc. (SAPC) won the title. The SAPC pair will be leading the PSAAP delegation to the coming Pila District Meet.
RILI athlete Paul Cedrick Surbano held the PSAAP torch and lighted the PSAAP flame after the pageant, symbolizing the start of the games.
RILI teacher and PSAAP program chair Mr. Alexis Melchor Sta. Ana and RILI student Paula Jane Camus led the Coordinators' Pledge and Oath of Sportsmanship, respectively.
The second day, program served as closing for the events. Highlighting the program was the search for Mr. and Ms. PSAAP 2017, a pageant for the elementary students.
The competition was composed of a production number that featured the contestants' casual wear, a sportswear competition, and the question and answer round.
SAPC bagged the Mr. and Ms. PSAAP 2017 titles while the pair from RILI were runners-up.
Each school provided special numbers during the program. Winners from different events were given awards and certificates before the pageant winners were announced.
SAPC garnered the most number of sports events and is considered the overall champion.
This year's PSAAP is composed of host RILI, SAPC, Liceo de Pila, South Greenville School, Colegio Monterei de Pila Child Development, Inc., and St. Therese School of Arts and Science, Inc.
