RILI takes dancesport to MCL Cup 2014

Playful body movements and quick turns were the hihglights of Rainbow Institute of Learning, Inc.'s routine for the MCL Cup 2014. Members of the team put away the colorful costume they used last year to make way for an all black garb. This was to feature body movements better in line with their dancesport theme this year.

Rainbow Institute of Learning, Inc. high school students participated in the Give It Up! Street Dance Showdown of MCL Cup 2014 held Nov. 22, 2014 at Malayan Colleges Laguna in Cabuyao, Laguna. The team was largely composed of members of the school's official folk dance group, the Bahaghari Cultural Dance Group.

Eight teams, including our own, competed for this year's street dance competition. While many opted for the usual festival theme (which was RILI's theme last year), RILIans brought dancesport into the mix.

The routine was a mix of Cha-cha-cha, Samba, and Jive which ended in an exhibition routine from Latin dancesport specialists Mark Herson Vargas and Careyn Lhyne Abogado.

RILI didn't land in the top three this year and is looking forward to better results next year.
