RILI bags bronze in nat'l story-telling contest

Rainbow Institute of Learning, Inc. (RILI) won 3rd place in the Story-Telling Contest of the Montessori School Administrators Association (MSAA) Festival of Talents, Nov. 15, at Hotel Dominique in Tagaytay City.

Czelsey Ayen Eval, a Preparatory pupil, represented RILI in the said category and competed against 17 other students from different public and private schools in the country, mostly from the National Capital Region and CALABARZON. Eval recited "The Story of the Rainbow" which tells the story of how the rainbow was formed.

RILI also competed in three other contests in the Festival of Talents. Hannah Xiantelle Alviar (Preparatory) competed in the Story Reading Contest, Janina Nicole Flores (Preparatory) competed in the Nursery Rhyme Contest, and Trisha Anne Manuel (Kindergarten) competed in the Vocal Solo Contest.

The contestants were coached by preschool teachers Ms. Li Anne Agurin, Ms. Jovelyn Eguia, and Ms. Christine Pelobello.

RILI seniors join Malayan's digital poster-making tilt

Not with paint, watercolor, nor crayons but with a mouse, an Apple computer, and Photoshop, senior students of Rainbow Institute of Learning, Inc. competed against 24 other contestants from CALABARZON and nearby regions in the Digital Poster-Making Contest at the Malayan Colleges Laguna (MCL) Cup 2012, Nov. 15 at MCL, Cabuyao, Laguna.

James Christian Espayos, Kenneth Cyrus Celso, and Mark Donnel de Patiño, all senior students, represented RILI in the said event. They were given ten different pictures which they can use to create their digital poster. Teams are allowed to use any effect available on Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator to create their posters. They were given two hours to finish the task.

Linga National High School of Pila, Laguna was declared champions of the contest.

The MCL Cup is an annual event held by MCL and consists of different contests such as cheerdance, street dancing, quiz bees, and others.

Students dress up for UN Day

Dressed up in their improvised but colorful versions of costumes from other countries, students of Rainbow Institute of Learning, Inc. (RILI) in Pila, Laguna celebrated the United Nations (UN) Day, Oct. 24.

Organized by the RILI Student Council (Pila, Laguna), each grade level participated in the event by providing interesting information about the country they chose. Some students also presented dances and other performances native to that country.

The UN Day celebration was hosted by student council representatives Frecanzie Nogrado (Year III) and Shane Corales (Year II).
