BCDG holds auditions for SY 2012-2013

BCDG hopefuls try some difficult steps.
Bahaghari Cultural Dance Group (BCDG) held a mini-workshop and auditions, June 23, at Rainbow Institute of Learning, Inc.'s (RILI) covered court.

BCDG choreographer Ms. Precious Sarah Añoso facilitated the workshop. She taught basic steps to 20 students from elementary (Grades 4-6) and secondary levels. Students then performed a routine which served as the basis for choosing who passed the auditions.

The following students passed the auditions:

  11. Vanessa Oca (Grade 6)
  12. Khrys Kyle Payag (Grade 5)
  13. Euclid Ivana Emmanuel Hidalgo (Grade 5)
  14. Ron Wesley Gonzales (Grade 4)
The new members will automatically be part under the school's Performing Arts (Dance) program and will enjoy benefits and privileges.

BCDG is the official folk dance group of RILI and has represented the school in different performances within Pila and neighboring municipalities.

Pila holds Independence Day program

The municipal office of Pila, Laguna held a program, June 12, at the municipal plaza as part of the nationwide celebration of Independence Day.

Mrs. Carmelita Olmeda, Labuin Elementary School principal, led the prayer followed by the singing of the National Anthem led by Linga Elementary School principal, Mrs. Rosalinda Ravelas. Dr. Edna Hemedez, district supervisor gave her opening remarks. A short talk on the proper way of using and displaying the National Flag by Mr. Alvin Lumidao followed. Mayor Edgardo Ramos, Vice Mayor Querubin Antonio Relova, Jr., and Councilor Zaldy Pantua also gave a few words.

Don Manuel Rivera Memorial National High School (DMRMNHS) and Linga National High School (LNHS) gave dance intermission numbers. Mrs. Perla Respicio, a teacher from DMRMNHS, sang a Tagalog folk song.

Mr. Santiago Fajilago, Jr., principal of DMRMNHS, gave his closing remarks which was followed by the laying of wreaths by the different sectors of the municipality of Pila including the private schools.

Mr. Ronaldo Morales, Year IV adviser, and Ms. Perla Drilon, Grade 7 adviser, were the official delegates of Rainbow Institute of Learning, Inc. to the event.

RILI hosts Pila flag ceremony

The administration staff and faculty of Rainbow Institute of Learning, Inc. (RILI) hosted the municipal flag ceremony, June 11, at the municipal grounds of Pila, Laguna. The program was attended by the officials and staff of the municipal office and rural health unit and the police officers of Pila.

Kate Aprilyn Surbano (III-Sapphire) led the National Anthem, Pledge to the Filipino Flag, and in singing Pilipinas Kong Mahal; Mrs. Clarissa Almanza (Grade 5 adviser) read a Bible verse and led the prayer; Mr. Robby Torres (Year III adviser) led the Pledge of the Government Employees; and Ms. Sheryl Cura and Ms. Joy Nicolas (preschool teacher-aides) led the morning exercise. School administrator Mrs. Miriam Añoso gave a few remarks while municipal councilor Hon. Ricardo Batingal gave a short message to end the program. Mrs. Jeroline Ocampo (Grade 6 adviser) was the program's MC. Bahaghari Cultural Dance Group entertained the audience with a special dance presentation.

Students from the high school department also attended the program at the plaza while elementary and preschool students attended the regular flag ceremony at the school campus.

SCAC approves SC consti, to hold poll soon

The Student Council Advisory Committee (SCAC) met on June 7 to approve the constitution and by-laws that will govern Rainbow Institute of Learning, Inc. Student Council (Pila, Laguna) or RILI Student Council.

The SCAC, composed of Grade 6 adviser Mrs. Jeroline Ocampo, Year IV adviser Mr. Ronaldo Morales, and school principal Mr. Daniel Ezra Añoso, scrutinized the details of the constitution and by-laws and planned for the formation of this school year's Commission on Elections (COMELEC) where the SCAC will also be part of.

According to the SCAC, elementary students from Grade 4 to Grade 6 and all secondary students will vote for this school year's President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Class presidents, on the other hand, will automatically be part of the Student Council as Class Representatives.

The Student Council elections will take place on June 29. Elected officials will be proclaimed on July 2.
